All About Our Packing Services
We offer packing services for everything from the smallest of fragile items up the large items shipped via LTL Freight. We stock over 40 different sizes of cartons plus can Custom build any size of box needed to carefully package your item. We also stock everything necessary to provide the inner cushion to protect your item during transit including, but not limited to, bubble wrap, foam sheeting, loosefill "peanuts" and carton sealing tape to keep those boxes shut.

All of our employees are AMPC Certified Packing Specialists and know all of the latest techniques used to package your items. We guarantee any item packed by us will stand up the carrier's "insurability" clauses in their insurance policies.

Example of a Computer pack job done by our Certified Packing Specialists
We were asked to pack and ship 2 computers, complete with 19" CRT monitors to Houston, TX. The most difficult part of a job like this is making sure that the monitors are packed in a way that they will make the trip without any damage, because they are both big and heavy (not too mention fragile). We used the following method to pack and ship them and the rest of the components.

We remove the base and any cords from the monitors, if possible. We then wrap the monitor in 1-2 layers of 1\2 bubble wrap and place it face down in a box that fits the monitor pretty snugly, in this case we are using a 20x20x20 box. We place it face down in the box because the glass is the heaviest part of the monitor and this will help to keep the box from wanting to tip over during transit. We pack bubble wrap around the back side of the monitor to help hold it in place in the box.

After sealing that box up, we prepare a box 4 inches bigger to place that box in. We chose a 24x24x24 Double Wall box to use as an outer box for this job. We prefer to use polyethylene corners to hold the inside box in place in the outer box. These corners are the preferred material for packing because they have "give" to protect in a shock, yet they have "memory" which continues to protect the item after a strong shock. It takes 8 of these corners to fully protect the inside box from damage. We then seal it up good and tight with carton sealing tape, sealing every seam on the box.

The CPUs were wrapped in 1\2 inch bubble wrap as well...but 4 layers are used here to provide 2" of cushion. We also wrap the keyboards and mouse in bubble wrap. The miscellaneous cords are wound up and held together with a little stretch wrap. A 22x22x22 box is prepared and a bottom layer of 4" of peanuts is put in. Then the CPU is laid in the box on its side with 2" of space around the outside edge giving 4" of total cushion between the carton and the CPU itself. The Keyboard and cords are placed on top of the CPU and the box is then filled the rest of the way to the top with peanuts. Then the box is sealed up tight just like the others.

Example of a glass window pane pack job
The 1" thick glass pane is sandwiched in 3 sheets of EPS foam, with the center piece cutout to set the glass pane in. This is taped on all edges to make one piece of foam containing the glass pane.

This foam is then sandwiched between 2 pieces of corrugate longer and wider than the foam. Cut-outs are done on the corrugate to hold the foam in place and this is all taped up good. Bubble wrap is used to fill in between the corrugate edges and as cushion on the outside of the corrugate if necessary and this whole piece is placed in the appropriate sized carton for shipment.

We have done over 50 of these and have not had one break yet in transit.
